I’ve written before about the magic of Self Addressed Stamped Envelopes, but has anyone had any luck sending one out overseas?
I read up on it and it turns out there are things called International Reply Coupons that allow you to “prepay” the cost of a stamp. The person who receives your letter (in this case I’m sending a story to Granta) can take that coupon and somehow magically transform it into a stamp that is valid in said overseas country (in this case, England).
So I called the post office about it and they have no clue. One woman said they stopped using them and when I asked for an alternative she told me she didn’t know.
“Can I talk to someone who might know?”
Then I got some attitude in my ear and that was that. Can anyone help?
