Blogging vs. Living
Oct 25th, 2007 by Nut
So I know this blog is very young and all but lately I’ve found myself thinking about it WAY too much. Everything that I do or that happens in my life is met with “how can I turn this into a good post?”
Now, I’m familiar with a similar effect when it comes to writing. That I’m used to. But this feels a little strange. This weekend was especially difficult because I thought to myself, “You haven’t posted anything! You’re falling behind!”
Not a pretty feeling because it got in the way of enjoying my weekend. Plus it takes a lot of time out of my day. I started this blog to get focused on my goals, but if I’m working so much on the focusing part, when am I going to make time to actually pursue them?
Methinks I need a little balance. My routine works, but if I try to do too much inside of that routine it will all go to hell. Right now I can wake up at 6am and blog until I go to work, then I’ll work out two days a week and blog after work.
When am I going to write?
When am I going to put together my killer book that will get me into advertising?
This needs to be addressed and I need to find a balance with this blog. After all, the whole purpose was to help me achieve my goals, not distract me from them.
How do you balance your blogging with your life?
Editors note: I feel dumb admitting it, but I just figured out the scheduling feature on Wordpress so that I can write ahead and have stuff posted automatically. This way I can step away from my computer for a few days.
