Sometimes I wish I had an Iphone, like when I’m walking around looking for a breakfast place and can’t quite find it.
But wait, there’s 411 right?
Sure, but my telephone company charges me $1.50 per call plus airtime. So I don’t like to use it.
But I recently came across this article that can get you around these charges.
I used 1-800-FREE-411 and, while it can be a little annoying and inexact, it worked. I got through to the place I wanted and asked directions and found my way there. All free of charge.
The bad parts:
- It takes a couple minutes. You have to listen to a short ad by for an unrelated company.
- It’s all run by computers. You may need to repeat your listing a few times.
- They won’t connect you directly. Have a piece of paper at the ready unless you want to get the number texted to you (standard text-messaging rates apply).
The good parts:
- It’s free!
- It works
Has anyone tried 1-800-GOOG-411?
