Ad Friday Commentary
Nov 23rd, 2007 by Nut
I want to thank everyone who has posted comments for Ad Fridays in the past and for those who will in the future. I can’t stress how important it is to get some feedback on these ads. Without it I’ll just twiddle my thumbs around and not really now if I’m headed in the right direction.
Thank you so much!
I also wanted to bring up something related to last week’s Ad Friday.
I fully agree that the ad and the whole concept needs to be pushed further. It might be a double right now but I need home runs to get hired (and to just get into the habit of going further into my ideas so they become better.
What to do when you are a little too into your concept?
I understand that last week’s Netflix ad is just OK. But it keeps tugging at me. The possibilities of a campaign that can work in so many ways. You can have something akin to the Maytag repair man where a mailman keeps getting into these bizarre/dangerous situations and pleading to the consumer to please use the Watch Instantly feature so he doesn’t have to suffer anymore. The TV would be hilarious.
How do I move past this point and go forward? The problem is I know it’s not great but I can see it being picked up. It could be out there, joining the thousands of other ads in the world that are just OK. That’s what I’m worried about.
What to do what to do what to do……just move on until I’m convinced it’s a great idea (and you folks also agree?)
I’m feeling like someone who has no business defending their idea, defending their idea.
