Jhumpa Lahiri, David Foster Wallace, and Junot Diaz

So I recently finished Jhumpa Lahiri’s Interpreter of Maladies (which was chosen by my readers) and I loved it. So I’m two for two with her after also loving The Namesake. So I was doing some reading about her and found a nice piece on Time about her.
They compare and contrast her with two other writers I really admire: DFW and Junot Diaz. I thought it was pretty interesting that they used them as examples of a contrasting style of writing but that I like both their work as well. A good sign, I think.

Right? She is my favorite novelist because she’s just so fascinating–she lets me escape into her books, where I feel like I’m in another place, with other people. So glad you enjoyed it!
