Alternative Income Streams — May
Jun 4th, 2008 by Nut
Here is the breakdown for my alternative income in the month of May. At first glance, it looks like bad news — after all, I’m down almost $40 from last month. But the truth is, last month was a fluke. I had two chunks of money come in in April that were “one-time” charges. I got a bunch of Revolution Money Exchange referrals (which aren’t going on anymore) and I closed out my Brainmass account too. So despite getting a $20 raise on my freelance work, I’m still down compared to last month. But my Adsense was better so I’m happy about that.
Plus, I remember someone saying that it takes Google six months to really start recognizing sites and including them more in search results. Well, June marks month #6 of this blog being at this domain (even though I’ve been at this since October of 2007), so hopefully Adsense revenue will only get better from here on out.
The goal has always been to have that “% Increase” category growing, even if it’s a dollar at a time, and with that I hope to get back over the $100 mark for June.

Don’t you count all the money from your wedding as an alternative income source? You did not have to do any work for it either.
I don’t have any tips, but I just want to say congrats on the additional AdShare income - I was excited to hit the $2 mark this month!
The last time I checked RME, they are still offering it. They still have the badge/program but without the original deadline.
Google Reader suggested your site to me recently. Perhaps this is an indicator of increasing recognition from Google.
