Are Traders Stereotyped?
Sep 8th, 2008 by Nut
I wish I had a scanner to reproduce this insert I found in a trader magazine so I could put it up here, but the frugal side of me keeps asking “Do you really need a printer/scanner?”
Anyway, it’s one of those subscription cards that pop out of every magazine you’ve ever read, only this on was in Trader Monthly. It has a little questionnaire that they probably use to get some data from the people they are reaching. Question number four piqued my interest:
4. What are your interests?
- a) golf
- b) liquor/spirits
- c) cigars
- d) fashion/watches
Granted, I haven’t really taken a peek in the actual magazine — maybe these are the things it covers. So I went over to the website to see if I could get any more details. Here’s what I found:

No note of golf or cigars or liquor, though the second item on the navigation bar is boxing. Really? Boxing? What’s going on here? So traders are golfing enthusiasts that love to drink, chomp on cigars and check their fancy watches to make sure they’re not missing the big fight?
Do I pretty much have that right?
