Reader Feedback: Help me Help You
Sep 10th, 2008 by Nut
I was reading something the other day about a company that makes medical devices and how they stay up to date with the products they make. One of the ways they do it is to have someone trail the doctors that use their products and ask a lot of questions.
Why did you do that first?
What does that do?
Is that annoying?
Do you wish you didn’t have to do that additional step?
Etcetera. It makes sense because if you’re making something that’s aimed specifically at one group of people, doesn’t it make sense to figure out what kind of changes might make their lives easier?
Not that I’m as important as doctors (but who knows with these things?), but it got me thinking about this site. My readers are my clients and I want to “be there” to see what works and what doesn’t. What could be better. Lucky for you though, I can’t be looking over your shoulder taking notes (although it’s really helpful, I must say), but I can ask for some ideas.
- What do you like about this site?
- What would you like to see more of?
- Is there any one topic you would like me to cover over any other?
Doesn’t matter if it’s content, organization, or whatever — if there’s anything else you’d like to say or rant about, feel free. Without direction I’ll sometimes go into dark corners of content that may find some people wondering, “what the heck’s going on?”
What have you got to lose? It’s not like your life is hanging in the balance.
