I’m a 27-year-old writer living and working in Chicago. This blog really began way back when I read Robert Kiyosaki’s book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad. While Kiyosaki himself can be kind of controversial, I still think his book has done a lot to wake people up from the stupor most of us are in when it comes to handling and investing our money. And that’s just what it did for me—before reading this book I didn’t know or care about anything related to money or investing. So for that reason alone, I tip my hat to Mr. Kiyosaki. It’s thanks to him that you’ll read important pieces on why index funds are so great and how most 401(k) providers suck.
I also love writing and reading, so this blog isn’t just limited to financial topics. I also blog about things like the writing process, trying to get published, and book reviews.
There are some other visionaries I should mention on this page. I’m a huge fan of Warren Buffett and his investment philosophy, as well as Peter Lynch and his great book One Up On Wall Street. When it comes to the writing world, I think Stephen King’s book On Writing is brilliant and I will devour anything that David Foster Wallace writes. He’s the reason I decided to try this whole writing thing. I think I have something to offer but so far all I have to show is a stack of rejection slips.
