Big News: I Have a New Job
In case you didn’t know, I have been looking for a new job for a while and yesterday it finally happened. I got the offer and I’m taking it.
It’s a very exciting time even though with change comes a little anxiety and nervousness: What will my new coworkers be like? What’s the day-to-day going to be like?
The good thing is that I got hired as a financial blogger, which is what I’ve been doing for the past few months on The Writer’s Coin. In fact, without this blog I wouldn’t have gotten the job. When they asked me for samples (twice), I was ready and sent a bunch of stuff from the blog, saying I had tons more if they needed it.
I always tout the maxim: “You stay ready, you ain’t got to get ready.”
Well, this was just such a case. So don’t let anyone tell you blogging can’t produce a lot of income. This blog just got me a 21% raise.
How this new job will affect this blog I’m not quite sure about yet, but that’s the least of my worries. Today is a day to be happy!
As a side note, yesterday I got a call from Gamestop saying my rain-check Wii was ready for pickup. So I went and got it and, what do you know, Guitar Hero III (M really wanted it too, so we split it) was there too, so I bought that too. Frugal? No. A celebration “present”? Hell yeah.
As the venerable Ice Cube once said: “Today was a good day.”

AH! I have so many questions. Where’d you hear about it? When do you start? Dying to know all about it!
CONGRATS!
