I love me a good movie, that’s why I like Netflix so much. So after I see a movie, it’ll come off the sidebar and get dumped in here, just like I do with the books tab. I will list them all out here with a short, one-line review. The final decision is up to you.
Enjoy!
- Che (6/10): The trailer was WAY better than the movie. It assumed I knew too much and had a lot of segments where nothing happens. Benicio was awesome though.
- Funny People (7/10): Adam Sandler in a role that seems to get really close to reality…maybe. But I’m done seeing the other guys in the movie play the same roles over and over again. Really long too.
- Julie & Julia (8/10): Entertaining and capable. Amy Adams rocks it again. It’s kind of depressing at the end, especially since it’s a true story.
- Mad Men (8/10): Just started the first season and so far I’m digging it. It’s about advertising and it’s very well made.
- Up (9/10): This movie was awesome! My new favorite animated character is Doug the dog. Squirrel!!
- Sunshine Cleaning: Amy Adams rocks it in this movie about sisterhood, love, and life. This one is funny, touching, and entertaining.
- Angels & Demons: Makes you kind of dislike Tom Hanks, but not a terrible movie overall. A “page turner.”
- The International: Clive Owen is pretty good in this World Bank thriller. See the behind the scenes feature on the museum: great stuff!
- Duplicity: One twist after another. Julia Roberts looks like she had something on her mind while shooting this one. Weird.
- Sugar: Poor Dominican baseball player goes to the US to play organized ball. Real, tender, and a must-watch for baseball and non-baseball fans alike.
- Defiance: Sad that I had to wait this long to hear this story: Polish Jews hide in a forest during WWII. Love the accents.
- Tyson: Insanely interesting! This movie made me nostalgic for the times where we believed in the impossible, invincible, and incredible. Refreshingly honest.
- The International: Just OK. Although the scene in the museum is sweet. Check out the extra footage on that scene, it was pretty crazy.
