Welcome to the first ever edition of the Comics and Cents Carnival! This is a carnival I started myself because I love to laugh and I write about money, so I figured it would be cool to see what kind of funny people could blend into their posts.

Suffice to say, we’re starting off with a whimper. Most people didn’t “get” that their posts were supposed to be funny, so that’s why there are so few posts included. Hopefully next week’s edition (the 21st) will ramp it up a notch.

As a reminder, this is funny. This is not. Got it?

Oh and this is totally funny:

On to the winners!

Adam Freedman presents Funny Comic on the Stock Market posted at The Investor’s Journal. Nothing like a crude comic to get the funny started.

P.L. Frederick presents You’re On My Mind, For $1,000 posted at Small & Big. Talk about creative advertising…check out the logo on her forehead!

Vanessa Wolf presents Stock market takes bottle of pills, sets self on fire, and jumps off bridge posted at Wide Awake in Wonderland. Like Vanessa says, investing is a marathon, and marathons are painful…kind of like hosting carnivals sometimes.

The Whited Sepulchre presents The Whited Sepulchre: Buying Locally Grown – No matter how far you have to drive posted at The Whited Sepulchre. When someone breaks down another person’s article and slams them…it can be pretty entertaining.

Make sure to check out next week’s Carnival and if you think you got the chops, submit away!

  1. That newscaster video is so painful to watch that I couldn’t stop. It’s a train wreck. A humorous train wreck.

Thanks for including me in the exclusive Comics and Cents club. You’re doing a nice service for folks here: Instead of crying about our current lack of “green energy” let’s have fun with it. :)
