Don’t worry, all subsequent posts will NOT be numbered like this.
So here’s why I’m starting this blog: I have another blog that I’ve kept up on for the past few years (two, actually), and I’ve come to a few realizations about them:

They weren’t specific enough. One kind of was—it dealt with immigration issues and being an outsider in a foreign country—but the main blog was about any random idea that popped into my head. That put writing, reading, baseball, philosophy, money, and anything interesting I would come across online under one umbrella. Too random. Too chaotic.

They weren’t giving me anything other than the satisfaction of recording my thoughts. Which is great and all, but I have certain specific goals that I want to achieve and the blogs, while taking up a decent amount of time, weren’t really contributing to them.

No one was reading them. Apologies to my friend Alejandro and a few random people here and there, but honestly—no one read my other blogs. Not because they were “bad” (I hope) but because I never really put it out there. I never pushed it. Why not? How do you push a website calling itself “Truth” that says it’s about “everything”? I never had the courage to go out with that.
So now I’ve rededicated myself and decided to relaunch a new blog that is specific, dedicated, and will hopefully keep me on point in terms of achieving my goals.

My goals:

-Get a job as a copywriter in an ad agency.
-Get my short stories and non-fiction essays published.

I could go on and on about why these are my goals but the gist is this: I love to write and I want to love what I do for a living. This is the only time I will admit to being cliché and sappy—I just want to be happy.

I really relate. It seems like just yesterday I was passing a beautiful office building, trying to imagine if I’d like working there. I remember thinking it might just be impossible to find a job where I’d be happy.
I’m so thankful I was wrong! Best wishes–I think if you keep at it, you’ll find what you’re looking for, too.
