Roth IRA vs. 401(k)
Here is a good article discussing and debating the advantages and differences of a 401(k) retirement account and a Roth IRA.
I have both of these accounts but I am more into my Roth since I run it myself through Scottrade and it marked one of the first “big” things I did after becoming a financially-aware person.
So what does the article think is best? Both. That’s why it’s such a good article: any responsible person who wants to set him or herself up for a good retirement needs to have both of these so that when retirement comes they will have a variety of flexible options to withdraw their money.
One interesting angle that the article covers that I hadn’t read about before is the uncertainty of what taxes will be like in the future and how that will affect each type of account. For that reason alone it’s worth the read.

[...] It’s the end of the year and that means a lot of you will be getting bonuses. If you’re ultra responsible and personal-finance savvy, you will no doubt take a nice chunk of that bonus and drop it into a retirement account like a Roth IRA or a 401(k) (see the difference between the two here).
